We held our first ever Trunk or Treat event on October 30th in the south field at New Humble Community School. In spite of a chilly, windy day, it was a huge success!
We had more than 15 vehicles come and line up along our fences, with their trunks (or truck boxes!) decorated with scary, cute and imaginative scenes! Each one gave out Halloween treats to the more than 120 trick or treaters who came with their families. After checking out the trunks and collecting Halloween treats at each one, the little monsters, witches, princesses, pirates, lambs, poodles, pumpkins and their friends got to go and play spooky games at our new outdoor learning space and win some prizes!
In addition to providing a fun outdoor event, we wanted to be sure we were supporting and giving back in other ways. Through the generosity of our community, we were able to donate 307 pounds of food as well as cash for the Leduc and District Food Bank, and 17 winter coats plus 26 warm winter accessories for the Mustard Seed Society of Edmonton.
We’re definitely going to be doing this again next year! We can’t wait to see who joins us!
Excellent !!! So much fun for the kids.
