Leduc County Sponsored Ice Cream Social at NHCS
On a beautiful July evening, Leduc County hosted an ice cream social at NHCS. Complete
with a pink ice cream truck, various games and activities, members of the community were
invited to take part in this wonderful event. The Pink Flamingo ice cream truck offered free ice
cream cones and their signature Pink Flamingo float! Over 100 guests attended, and they each
had the opportunity to choose from an assortment of ice cream flavours or the float, all on
behalf of Leduc County. After enjoying their cool treat, guests were able to mingle or take part
in the numerous games and activities supplied. Checkers, hula hoops, bean bag toss, box
hockey, rubber chicken toss, colouring, scavenger hunts, Jenga, etc. were set up and free for all
guests to enjoy. Live music by Braden Gates provided a perfect backdrop to all the fun. For two
hours, guests were able to put their busy summer lives on pause and reconnect with one
another and their community. As the summer is typically busy for our agricultural community, it
was wonderful to see so many people taking a break from haying and gardening to enjoy NHCS
outside of the traditional school year. The Humble community is so thankful for the county of
Leduc choosing to host this event at NHCS. They truly went above and beyond, facilitating
conversation with community members on ideas for additional recreational activities and social
events.
